Romania is a semi-presidential republic and member of the EU, located in Eastern Europe. As well as pig and sheep farming, the most advanced economic sectors are tourism and manufacturing (iron and steel, metallurgic and petrochemicals), the latter fed by the substantial reserves in raw materials (petroleum, natural gas, iron, bauxite, silver, gold, manganese and copper).
