Domain registration Solomon Islands

At present, it is not possible to register a domain name with this extension. However, for those companies with interests in the Solomon Islands, or that are looking to protect their trademark within the country, it is possible to register domain names with other, official domain extensions.
The Solomon Islands are an archipelago in Oceania, located in the South Pacific Ocean and consisting of around 1,000 islands to the east of Papua New Guinea.
The islands cover a total of 28,450 km² and are mainly mountainous, covered in thick jungle. The population of 538.148 (2011) lives mainly on the coast or along the rivers. The capital Honiara is located on the island of Guadalcanal, one of the most populated of the Solomons. The official language is English, though there are many Melanesian, Polynesian or Micronesian spoken languages. The main local resources are livestock farming (cattle, pigs), fishing and timber; there is also growth in mineral extraction (copper, zinc, bauxite, silver). The local currency is the Solomon Islands Dollar.
