Domain registration Curaçao
The official domain extension for Curaçao (Netherlands Antilles) is .CW.
The UNA (University of the Netherlands Antilles ) will eliminate all .AN domain names from their database as of 31/10/2013. From 31/10/2014, the extension .AN will be permanently abandoned and will be replaced by the new official domain extension.
CW, which can already be used in new domain name registrations.

The Netherlands Antilles was an autonomous Caribbean country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, consisting of 5 islands : Curaçao, Bonaire, Saba, Sint Eustatius and Sint Maarten. Following in the footsteps of the island of Aruba, which separated itself from the Antilles in 1986, the rest of the Netherlands Antilles was dissolved together in 2010; Bonaire, Saba e Sint Eustatius became special municipalities within the Netherlands, and Curaçao and Sint Maarten became two new constituent countries of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The total surface area of the country was 800 km² and the population numbered 192,866 in 2001. The capital was Willemstad. The local currency was the Netherlands Antillean Guilder, and the local economy was based principally on agriculture, mining and tourism. The official language was Dutch, with common spoken use of Papiamento (a creole language with Portuguese and Spanish influences).
